Boo June 3, 2008

This is Boo.  He is a character that my husband created about 10 years ago that he paints.  I decided to design a doll for use at his art shows as somthing tangible that people can hold and look at.  I’m really very proud of them i must say!

Here is one of his paintings that my Boo doll is modeled after:

My husband paints mainly in acrylics.  You can go to his website if you click on the Boo link to the right of this post.   It is really exciting to go to his art shows and see my dolls sitting happily under one of his paintings!  And it’s helped to get my art onto the streets and out of the house where only the two of us enjoy them.

Introducing:  Cleo the Cat! She’s a little book worm and just loves hanging out on the shelves looking for new characters to be friends with.

Directions are as follows.  I just whipped this out (since i generally just crochet and make things up as I go) so if you find any problems, please let me know and I will fix!

**PLEASE DO NOT USE FOR PROFIT** I do not mind you using the pattern, but please reference me as the creator.  :0)  Thank you!

This is what it’s all about…. January 17, 2008

Hello World!  This being my very first “weblog” (since the days of livejournal) where should I begin?

I am 25, recenlty married.  We have a very large cat – Trout (his brother lives two doors down – Kilgour is his name – two points if you know who Kilgour Trout is!?).  Charlie is our dog.  We love him.

I grew up with a mother who was advid of all things crafty.  My sister and I were seen daily in home-made outfits until we were old enough to realize that matching with your whole family is not the coolest thing ever.  Mom knits, crochets, sews, did macrame, all things crafty were her thing.  The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

I started to knit a couple of years ago when I decided to move to Humblodt County for awhile.  That bored me to death so I picked up crocheting.  Love it.  I am addicted to Amigurumi like nobody’s business.  Nothing gives you the satisfaction and pleasure of creating your very own animal!  I’ve only been doing this for maybe six months or so, but I guess you could say i’m Hooked!

Here are a couple of things i’ve made:

Helga the Hippo – my very first amigurumi (pattern from Crochetville)

and, Elijah the Elephant

I’d love to share my other projects, but the camera is on the fritz!

Let me know what you think!
